The KIT-STARTER-RPI/CASE/SD/PWR-UK is a Raspberry Pi starter kit with Raspberry Pi model B board and required accessories. The Raspberry Pi aims to put the fun back into learning computing by promoting the study of computer science and programming at a school level. The Raspberry Pi board contains a processor and graphics chip, program memory (RAM) and various interfaces and connectors for external devices. Some of these devices are essential, others are optional. RPi operates in the same way as a standard PC, requiring a keyboard for command entry, a display unit and a power supply. The model B Raspberry Pi board is a credit card sized single board computer with a Broadcom BCM2835 system on chip running Linux. The BCM2835 includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU and 512MB memory. the Raspberry Pi does not include a built in hard disk or solid state drive, but uses an SD card preloaded with a version of the Linux operating system for booting and long term storage.
