B51

B51 is a BICEPS processor adapter POD. The classic POD method replaces the CPU on the target board by an adapter. The processor adapter (POD) replaces the microcontroller of the board under test. Only the POD has to be changed, if another controller has to be emulated. Normally the processor is the only active circuit on the POD. The port signals are directly connected with the test board or are generated by emulator hardware, if the signals are necessary for emulator internal functions. This is true for P0, P2, /PSEN and ALE. An external device for generating this signals is not necessary. The mechanical adaption to the package type of the controller (DIL, PLCC or QFP) is done by a converter. The clock speed of the controller can be chosen between 1MHz to 40MHz. Additionally, the clock of the user board can be selected.
